My part in God's plan of salvation.
We learn in scripture that we are born with Adam's fallen nature (Gen 3:17-24). Because of this, our spirit is separated from God the Father because He is righteous and cannot look upon sin. Therefore our spirit must be "reborn" to be able to commune once again with God. The Holy Spirit is the one who does this today. This is only possible by the shed blood of Jesus Christ which cleanses us from all our sins.
John 3:3-8 (KJV): Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
So how do I get born again you ask? How do I get saved? How do I get to go to Heaven and be with Jesus? Just believe only in (have faith in) what God's word says, because your heart is wicked...
Jer 17:9 (KJV): The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Acts 16:30-31 (KJV): ...Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved...
Rom 10:9-13 (KJV): That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Rom 3:28 (KJV): Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Please don't hesitate to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior because you may not have tomorrow.
Prov 27:1 (KJV): Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Luke 12:20 (KJV): But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
2 Cor 6:2 (KJV): (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
OK, I believe what the bible says. What must I do?
First, you must accept that you are a sinner who will be judged by God one day and sentenced to Hell and the Lake of Fire. If you are not sorry for your sins then go back and reread why Jesus had to die on the cross for you. Ask God right now to open your eyes to your own condition with Him. God will not turn you away.
Rom 3:23 (KJV): For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 6:23 (KJV): For the wages of sin is death...
2 Pet 3:9 (KJV): The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Rev 3:20 (KJV): Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Second, pray humbly to God. Ask God right now to be merciful and forgive you of your sins for the sake of Jesus Christ who shed his blood on the cross for your sins. Ask God for faith to believe His Word. Ask God to protect you from the Devil who will attack you at any moment because of your new faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Rom 5:8-11 (KJV): But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
1 peter 5:8 (KJV): Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Third, believe that God has forgiven you of all your sins (have faith in God's word).
Rom 10:13 (KJV): For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Ps 91:14-16 (KJV): Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.
Fourth, if you followed the first three steps with your heart and really meant it from your heart (This is something only you and God will know) then...
